Finding your “At Ease” Command: How to use your attention to lighten the stress load

As I stood in the queue to post my letters I realised something. There was nothing happening to stress me out. I was safe and secure. And yet my body was feeling tense. Does that ever happen to you? You’re calm but you realise your body feels far from relaxed.

Sometimes our body is waiting for us to give it permission to relax

Just like a soldier standing to attention, our body patiently holds tight to make sure we are safe until it's given a clear signal. Is your body doing that right now? Are you holding your muscles tight without noticing?

Thank You and Let Go

I recorded this bite sized video earlier this week. Have a little listen to find out: - why our body stands to attention - what it means for how exhausted you feel - how you can shift it so you don’t feel wired and tired at the end of the day I also talked about this with the members of my paid community this week and designed a meditation to help! If you’d like to have a listen I’m sharing it for you here as a little gift from me:

In this practice, we create the conditions for a softening and release. Thanking our body for holding on and working so hard for us and then giving it permission to let go. Using our breath to gently give thanks as we breathe in and encourage release as we breathe out.

I’d love to hear from you. Does this resonate for you? Let me know what you think.
